Nintendo Australia Announces NRL Inspired Wii Game – WiiAssault: NRL

Nintendo Australia have announced a new NRL inspired game for it’s popular Wii gaming console called WiiAssault: NRL. You will get to play as your favourite NRL players in this multi player game of skill, determination, domination, deprivation and humiliation in familiar locations across Australia and New Zealand.

Nintendo Australia spokesperson and lead designer Yugi Oh gave us some insight into the game and what we can expect.

Taking advantage of the Wii’s multi player capabilities and movement sensors WiiAssault: NRL will be like no other game we have ever released. You can play as any of your favourite players from all Australian NRL teams and visit various locations with your team-mates. From participating in bathroom stall assaults, to druggings and group sex activities (consensual and non-consensual), we aim to bring the true NRL team-mate bonding experience to the Wii console.

You can have up to four other friends play alongside you who can participate in NRL inspired activities as well. This game will make you feel as though you are a true NRL player only without the law suits, A Current Affair interviews and suspensions.

The game will have over 45 mini games to play in, as well as realistic sounding voices and over 25 different locations including various hotels (including a New Zealand hotel) and nightclubs. Just don’t expect this to be a sports game where you participate in sporting activities, that’s what we made WiiSports for.

The game is expected to carry a M15+ game rating, although it has yet to be rated. WiiAssault: NRL is expected to be released towards the end of 2009 with some surprises still in the bag.
